Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is a set of techniques and principles that aim to improve communication, behavior and personal development. It was developed in the 1970s by Richard Bandler and John Grinder, who claimed to model the skills of successful therapists and communicators. NLP has been widely applied in various fields such as education, business, coaching, sports, and health.

NLP is based on the assumption that human experience is subjective and can be changed by altering the way we perceive, think, and express ourselves. NLP practitioners use various methods to help clients achieve their goals, such as rapport building, reframing, anchoring, modeling, and meta-programs. NLP also draws on concepts from linguistics, psychology, hypnosis, and neurology.
